Tell them a story. Tell them almost what you are going to tell them, then tell it, and afterwards summarise what you said with a conclusion to it all, before telling them where you got it from. However, you:

1. do an essay plan first
2. write the essay (noting all referenced sources)
3. convert the relevant parts of
   the realised plan into a summary
4. and write the introduction at the very end
