Life Art

Sat with a Drink was painted over several days in July 2018. The image is 920 wide and 1200 tall, and is shown here at 50%. It was taken from World Wide Web deposited photograph with a sofa similar to this but greenery behind. I moved the arms (using an image from the WWW of Professor Alice Roberts) and put a representation of coloured lights behind.

The first drawing and 'negative' painting is shown below. I decided not to use complimentary colours for the lights, on the basis that these colours could darken down the result. These colours were painted directly on white. Pink came before the red. This is shown at 37%.

The the middle stage of the painting is shown below. The painting effort to overcome the complementary colours has resulted in losing much of the colour market pens drawing. Further along the drawing is restored, and the painting follows the drawing. Later I also added some emphasis drawing, which was painted over. This is 920 wide by 1200 high and shown at 50%.

Below is the later stage of the painting, completed in July 2018, which I disliked and thus went on to change the teeth, the mouth, the ears a little, the hair a little and the mouth. (The picture is repeated at the bottom for comparison.) The colour strength difference is simply through post-production of the later photograph. It attempts to be accurate.
