Gil Elvgren Grouping (Two Paintings)

Painted Lady was completed on 2nd July 2020. It is an acrylic painting supported by marker coloured pens and fibre tipped pens on a larger 50 by 60 cm canvas. It shows a young woman who posed in the style of Gil Elvgren's work, from a piece that had a Picasso-like painting alongside the model. So I created a modern, realistic painting. The image at 1050 by 1200 pixels is shown at 50%.

The model herself sent me her Gil Elvgren based pose recreation (and the original). My drawing is a variation on her photograph and goes back to details of the easel and palette of the original but not its Picasso-like painting alongside. This was drawn (and often corrected) in pencil and then with a variety of fibre tipped coloured pens and colour marker pens. It needed a larger canvas. The image is 1050 by 1200 pixels and displayed reduced (50%).

Painting Her Nails is an acrylics painting, supported by coloured marker pens and coloured fibre tipped pens, on a 30 by 40 cm canvas and completed on 14th July 2020. The image at 920 by 1200 pixels is shown at 50%.

The drawing using fibre tipped pens, water, some white paint and a black marker pen and was completed on 12th July 2020 on a 30 by 40 cm canvas. The image is 920 by 1200 pixels and displayed reduced (50%).
